Interim CEO Message
A very warm welcome to the Canberra Institute of Technology!
The Institute is Canberra's longest established and largest vocational education and training provider, providing public education for over 95 years.
CIT's training is focused on industries, interests, and professions where there are strong job opportunities in Canberra - and range from short courses to diplomas, with some giving credit towards university degrees.
You can see from our Course Guide that ɬÀï·¬offers many nationally recognised courses for you to start a new career or retrain, update your skills, or pursue a passion or interest. We are pleased to be able to offer some of these qualifications as Fee-Free TAFE courses.
We are staffed by dedicated and qualified teachers and trainers, and also work closely with employers and industry to support you to build the practical skills needed for a wide range of careers - including health sciences, trades and construction, community services, horticulture, arts and design, hair and beauty, English language, culinary and hospitality, music, cybersecurity and IT, business and management, a dedicated CIT's First Nations Educational Centre of Excellence, ɬÀï·¬Yurauna and much more.
Our five campuses, located throughout the Australian Capital Territory, have modern facilities including commercial kitchens and a student-run restaurant and café, an early childhood education training facility, a hair and beauty training salon, a fitness centre, simulated hospital wards, dental training facilities and an Electric Vehicle training lab. We are also building a new ɬÀï·¬Woden Campus, which will welcome its first students in 2025.
Our students also enjoy a range of ɬÀï·¬support services such as study skills, counselling and career support, assistance with literacy, numeracy, and digital training, and world-class libraries.
In short, the Institute is an excellent place to get an education, and we are proud of our efforts to support students in pursuit of their dreams and ambitions.
Please do not hesitate to contact ɬÀï·¬if you need any further information about our courses and services - and I look forward to welcoming you to ɬÀï·¬in 2024.
