Concessions

If you are looking at getting a course fee concession, you will need to:

  • apply for the course fee concession at the time of enrolment or re-enrolment
  • apply for the course fee concession before the commencement of your first class

Once all your paperwork has been submitted to Centrelink/Services Australia, if there is a delay in processing your eligibility for a concession, please discuss this with Student Services staff prior to your classes commencing.

A concession will not be applied if your classes have already commenced.

When the concession is granted it will represent a 50% concession on your course tuition fees and in some circumstances your skills recognition fees.

Concessions do not apply to:

  • Higher Education Fees (Degrees and Associate Degrees)
  • CITCard Replacement Fee
  • commercial fees
  • ɬÀï·¬Solutions Courses
  • material/resources fees
  • excursion fees
  • sponsored students
  • graduation robe hire fee
  • replacement award fee
  • replacement record of results fee

Eligibility for course fee concession

A 50% concession applies to all students (including Australian Apprentices) who are in receipt of Pensioner Concession Card (PCC), Health Care Card, Veteran Affairs Pension, or Veteran Affairs Children's Education Scheme Allowance (VACESA).

You will need to provide evidence of eligibility for concession. You will need to provide at least one of the following:

  • Recent Income Statement - Centrelink form. These statements are available on request from Centrelink and must show your name, address, type of benefit and date benefit commenced.
  • Current Letter of Confirmation - Centrelink form. This is the letter sent to advise recipients of their Centrelink entitlements and payment arrangements. It must show your name, address, type of benefit, and date benefit commenced. ɬÀï·¬Student Services will check that the fees due date is covered.
  • Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) or Health Care Card (HCC)
  • From the "Express Plus Centrelink" app you can provide a screenshot of your "Digital Wallet" Health Care Card and email it as an attachment to infoline@cit.edu.au.
  • Centrelink Client Consent Form (see Student Forms)
  • Veteran Affairs Pension - Gold Card
  • Veteran Affairs Children's Education Scheme Allowance (VACESA).
Recipient must provide the notification from VACESA advising of successful application of the Long Tan Bursary.

Australian Apprentices who are unable to provide a health care card (HCC) may still be eligible for a concession, by providing evidence (in the form of payslips) demonstrating they are a low income earner or alternatively they may apply for financial hardship circumstances. Go to Australian Apprentices Concession for more information

Sponsors/third parties are not eligible to receive the concession rate for an enrolling student.

Most students who are eligible for a concession are also eligible to apply for Fee Assistance. For more information on Fee Assistance including how to apply visit the Financial assistance page.
