Brighte Pathways: Women in Sustainable Energy Scholarship

The Brighte Pathways: Women in Sustainable Energy Scholarship provides an opportunity for the personal and professional development of female trade professionals to further their experience and career development in the renewable energy disciplines.

Up to five scholarships, for the value of up to $2,250 per scholarship, are available to female students studying full or part-time, enrolling or intending to enrol in any of the following courses:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electric Vehicle Technology AUR32721
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician UEE30820
  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration UEE32220
  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications UEE30920
  • Statement of Attainment in Insulation Installation

Scholarships will be awarded to female students who demonstrate a commitment to study and to the environment. The scholarship will directly contribute to ɬÀï·¬student fees across the period of study and may also be used to purchase recommended equipment for the studies. In addition to the scholarship, Brighte will commit to fund the Solar Accreditation Australia costs.

The Global Power Generation (GPG): Women in Renewables Scholarship

The Global Power Generation (GPG) Women in Renewables Scholarship provides an opportunity for women to undertake training in renewable energy and allied fields at ɬÀï·¬to enable them to pursue job opportunities in the renewable energy industries.

Nine scholarships will be offered in 2024 to women who study and obtain any of the following qualifications at the Canberra Institute of Technology:

  • Certificate IV in Cyber Security 22603VIC
  • Certificate IV in Information Technology ICT40120
  • Diploma of Project Management BSB50820
  • Certificate IV in Project Management Practice BSB40920
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician UEE30820
  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration UEE32220
  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications UEE30920

Note: Some courses require a minimum number of enrolments to run

GPG Women in Renewables Scholarships are awarded to female students who demonstrate a commitment to study and to the environment. The scholarship will cover ɬÀï·¬student fees for the recipient to the value of up to $3,300 for the duration of the study for the qualification or three years, whichever is less. Fees will be refunded upon successful completion of each unit of study at the end of the semester and credited to the student’s account. For trade courses, scholarship money may also be used to purchase recommended tools and equipment for their training, with funds credited to the student’s account upon production of receipts as evidence of purchase.

In addition to the training, for scholarship recipients who are not apprentices, there are possible work placements with renewable energy companies and mentoring by renewable energy industry experts following satisfactory interviews and completion of at least one semester of study.

To be eligible for a Scholarship, applicants must be:

  • female students 17 years or older. Mature aged female students are also encouraged to apply
  • Australian citizens or have permanent Australian resident status
  • all women can apply. However, preference will be given to those living and/or working in the ACT
  • enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the eligible ɬÀï·¬qualifications in Semester 2, 2024
  • committed to complete the nominated qualification at ɬÀï·¬before the end of Semester 1, 2027
  • able to attest that they are not in receipt of any other scholarship valued in excess of $500 in total at the time of application
  • able to provide evidence of:
    • a commitment to study; and
    • a commitment to the renewable energy and/or the sustainability industries.
