Overview

This course is suited to people who wish to obtain high level technical floristry and design skills and an ability to work at professional floristry standards. Graduates from this course will be able to work as a skilled florist and undertake all the work required in a retail studio. It will suit people who have an eye for colour, a practical nature and the desire to create floristry arrangements and displays. A significant component of the training also includes customer service and selling skills.

Duration:

4 semesters part-time (approx. 8 hours per week) plus Work Placement. You will also need to complete approx. 6 hours per week of independent and self-directed learning to practise and develop your skills.

This course is offered under . The initiative will give eligible participants the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification and receive a completion payment from Skills Canberra. The completion payment is made upon successful completion of their skilled capital qualification which must be completed within two years of the commencement date.

Students must successfully complete all Stage 1 units prior to enrolling into Stage 2 units.

Entry Requirements

Open entry. If you are entering this course as a trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Apprentice Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment.

To study any course at ɬÀï·¬(excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with a lower level course, or enrol in the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (FSK20119) to develop your literacy skills.
