Overview

This course will provide you with specialist skills in technical network cyber security capabilities, organisational requirements under cybersecurity law, vigilance and adaptability to edge network security solutions and cyber security management concepts and risk management. This course meets the needs for network engineers, currently in or aiming for upper management positions, with a range of high-level IT networking, cyber security, and analytic skills. The course will prepare you to be able to complete industry recognised certifications (externally of CIT).

Duration:

Full time - 6 months (4 sessions per week – unit availability subject to demand)
Part time - up to 2 years (from 1 sessions per week)
Each session is 3 to 4 hours in the evening

You will also be required to complete an additional 3-5 hours/per unit, each week of self-directed learning activities.

Additional Information

As a part of the course graduates will complete:
- Paloalto certified network security engineer

Graduates of this course will have the skills and knowledge to be able to attempt the following certifications (externally of CIT)
- CCNP Security
- Cisco Cyber Ops Associate

If utilising a personal computer, please ensure your computers' RAM has 32GB or more.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must:
- have a relevant higher education qualification
OR
- have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in related fields of study and have at least one year full-time equivalent workplace experience with exposure to networking and cyber security
OR
- have at least two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience with exposure to networking and cyber security.

It is recommended that entrants:
- are currently working in a public or private sector agency that undertakes networking and cyber security work
- have relevant industry certifications in networking and cyber security

You may be required have an interview to confirm that prior experience on IT networking and computing operating systems are proficient to ensure successful course completion.

To study any course at ɬÀï·¬(excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 4 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.       Description: This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design, and implement secure access solutions to mitigate threats from outside and securing devices connecting to the network. This unit applies to the security management of network infrastructure to reduce cyber security risks. The skills and knowledge apply to a range of Information and Communications Technology infrastructure specialist and management roles.
